PPR-C PIPES AND FITTINGS

Raw Material General Specifications

Main usage area of pipes made of polypropylene is hot and cold installations. Designed in accordance with the principles of chemical resistance, industrial pipe installations can also be used safely in compressed air installations.
The raw material polypropylene is manufactured in four classes in terms of resistance to heat, pressure and chemicals.

- Type 1: Polypropylene Homopolymer (PPH)
- Type 2: Polypropylene Block Copolymer (PP-BC)
- Type 3: Polypropylene Random Copolymer (PP-RC)
- Type 4: Crystallinity Modified Polypropylene Random Copolymer  (PP-RCT)

Polypropylene raw materials belonging to Type 3 and Type 4 categories exhibit better physical and chemical qualities compared to Type 1 and Type 2 raw materials. Pipes in Design PPR product group are made of top-quality raw materials with pressure resistance of PPR100 and higher in accordance with TS EN ISO 15874, TS 9937, DIN 8077, DIN 8078 ,TS 13715 and DVGW standards.

The phases specified in the table must be taken into account in the welding operations of design boiler pipes.

- Make sure that welding machine heats up to 260°C, thermostat lamp is off and the plate is clean.

- Cut the boiler pipe with tube truss in vertical direction to its axis.

- Place the boiler pipe into the butt rectification apparatus. Please note that it is not always possible to cut the pipe faces in vertical direction to the axis with pipe scissors. Cutting the pipe face obliquely causes problems in welding. Face smoothing apparatus is a well-designed stylish engineering product, which can solve this problem. Face smoothing apparatus must be used where possible.

- Rectify the face by using the smoothing apparatus, ensuring that a channel is opened in foiled section. Front of the pipe must be smoothed until the surface touches the bottom of the smoothing apparatus. No installation constructed without the use of face smoothing apparatus can be guaranteed by  Dizayn Group.

- Boiler pipe with smoothed pipe face is an illustration only.

- Push the boiler pipe and its fitting towards the special welding die vertically. After observing the melt material coming from the hole, remove the pipe and the fitting from the die (when the looking) at the face of the pipe removed from the die plate, it will be observed that aluminium folio in the middle remains within the plastic) Special welding die has been developed for eliminating the possible errors of plumbers, and it must certainly be used in boiler pipe welding applications

- After they are removed from the die plate, immediately connect the pipe and the fitting to each other. Do not turn the pipe or the fitting when connecting them to each other.

- Our company gives guarantee for installations, in which Dizayn branded pipes are connected with Dizayn branded fittings, and which comply with the specified rules. Die plates used in welding applications must be in accordance with DVS2208-1.

Clamping intervals of pipes to be assembled must be in accordance with the values specified in the following tables.

Temperature, service life and pressure relationships of pipes in PPR product group are given in the table below.

Dizayn’s HI-TECH series fitting pieces are made of top-quality raw materials with pressure resistance of PPR100 and higher in accordance with TS EN ISO 15874, TS 11755,DVGW W534 standards

Superior Qualities of Dizayn HI-TECH Fittings:

- Provide 100% sealing at low or high (53.1 bar) application pressures according to standards. Dizayn HI-TECH fittings are manufactured with a technology, which allows the operation of metal and plastic as a single component.

- In Dizayn HI-TECH fittings, local loss coefficients are 30% lower than the products of other brands. In this way, potential energy losses in installations will be decreased.

- Water passage diameter in accordance with the standards
- Diameter reduction during welding is prevented thanks to its conical structure.
- Geometric design for reducing local losses.

All these factors combined provide a superior product.
- Metallic and plastic body materials, which do not affect the water quality, are manufactured in accordance with health standards.

- Torque rating of Dizayn’s HI-TECH metallic fittings is well above the standards.
One of the most important characteristics, which show the quality of the joint between metal and plastic is the torque strength. In HI-TECH Series, torque strength of all metals have been significantly improved. For instance, rotation occurs not by stripping the metal-plastic interface, but through plastic deformation.

- Problems such as sound production in the installation do not occur thanks to its conical structure.

- Thanks to its conical structure and appropriate dimensions, it allows an easy, clean welding operation that does not tire the workmen.

- They have an aesthetic appearance.

- Environmentally friendly.

PPR-C PIPES AND FITTINGS

Local loss coefficients (K) have been reduced to minimum levels with Dizayn HI-TECH fittings in order to minimize the loss of fittings, which constitute the majority of the pressure losses in the installation. This is a product of advanced engineering design. The products were designed as a result of analysis conducted in computer environment with Computational Fluid Dynamics. With Dizayn HI-TECH fittings, optimization is achieved in project designing and system running costs. Most of the total losses in the pipes used in Heating and Sanitary Installations occur as a result of local losses in the fittings. Improvements in the loss of fittings enable the most important optimizations in the design of the installation; the systems can be operated with smaller pumps, less energy requirement and high efficiency.

Points to Consider when PPR Pipes Are Used:

- Make sure that PPR pipes and fittings are not subject to hard impacts. Pipes and fittings should not be thrown from high places. As a result of impacts, invisible capillary cracks may occur in the pipe. Capillary cracks cause leaking problems in the installation over time (Especially in cold weathers,  + 5 ° C and below).

- Exposure of PPR pipes to UV rays for a long time before and after installation should be prevented. Sections exposed to UV rays must be isolated after plumbing installation.

- A pressure test must be performed on the completed installation (DIN 1988). It is wrong to perform the pressure test with network pressure. Installation pressure test must be performed after the installation is complete, at a value which is 1.5 times more than the operating pressure (15 bar) and for a period of 2 hours.

- PPR pipe installations must be protected against risk of freezing. Insulation must be made in areas where there is risk of freezing. If the installation will not be used, the water in the installation should be drained and the pipes should be prevented from being damaged due to the high pressures that occur as a result of freezing.

- Metal pipes should be preferred in the first 1-1.5 meters of the hot water outlet line due to the instant high temperatures in devices such as water heaters, and then a transition to PPR pipe should be provided. In this way, damage resulting from high pressures will be prevented.

- Make sure that welding dies used in welding operation are in accordance with the standards. Welding must not be performed with dies, the teflons of which are damaged.

- Contaminated pipes and components should not be welded and should be cleaned with a clean and damp cloth.

- Conical threaded fittings should not be used in connections. Only spur geared parts and fixtures must be preferred. Overtightening must be avoided.

- Teflon tape, teflon rope and sealing chemicals should be used instead of flax in threaded connections. The use of these materials must be preferred for avoiding installation problems caused by excessive tightening.

- In cold and windy weathers (+ 5 ° C and below), fusion welding must be performed by taking the necessary precautions. If precautions cannot be taken, PPR must not be welded at temperatures of +5°C and below.

- Pipes and fittings should be protected from impacts of hard and sharp objects. They must be stacked in a way that they are protected from potential damages.

- Make sure that scissors to be used for cutting the pipes, are sharp.

- Applications, which may cause stress and permanent deformation, must not be used in the assembly of the pipes.

- Clamping distances must be adjusted in accordance with the values specified in the tables.

- Technical catalogues must be used for the compensation of expansion (elongation and shortening).
